My Trip to Lanzarote

Lanzarote is a beautiful place.

I went for a few days last month and took my Fujifilm XT4 with me to document my time out there. I knew that if I was to go abroad again, I would want my new Fuji camera with me so I made sure that it arrived in time for me to take it…

As I mentioned in my previous blog post regarding my trip to Barcelona, I always feel more comfortable taking a 24-70mm equivalent lens with me when I know I’ll be using my camera as for my style of photography, it’s the most versitile. However, when I was shooting across Lanzarote, I ran into many situations where it would’ve been better for me to have a higher focal length lens due to the mountainous terrain.

Something like a 70-200mm might have helped me out on a few occasions…

In the grand scheme of things this is just a minor nitpick as at the end of the day, I still like the photos I got with the 24-70mm equivalent…

When it comes to finding things to take photos of, you’ll never run out. The beaches are beautiful, the people in the towns are friendly, and the architecture is so interesting to look at. I took my camera with me everywhere during the four days I was never in a photo draught in fact, most days it felt like I took too many which was a first for me.

I’d highly recommend leaving the capital city if possible and just visiting the neighbouring towns and the beaches. Tourist sites such as the Los Volcanes National Park are also a good place to visit not just for the photos but for the experience.

It’s a fair bit of walking but it is worth it. I promise…

I would highly recommend anyone new to travelling to go out to Lanzarote as it is defintely one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. It’s nice and peaceful when you want some down time to be and full of activities when you need something fun to do.

It’s the perfect place to get some photos for the album so of course, make sure you take plenty of snaps when you do decide to visit.

And make sure you eat the McDonalds over there. It’s so much better than the ones in the UK…
